Well the first day of this lifestyle change is (almost) over! I have to look at this as a lifestyle change because if I call it a diet, that brings to mind an idea that one day I will go back to where I was before. That just isn't an option. So lifestyle change it is. Overall, today was OK. I ate more than I probably should have, but going from 0 to 60 is pretty hard, so here goes. Maybe writing this out will help me truly understand what I really am eating.
Breakfast
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 Jimmy D-Lights sandwich - 230 calories
- Diet coke
Snack
- About 1 1/2 cups grapes
Lunch
- Sandwich (bread - 90 calories, 2 slices turkey, 1 slice low fat swiss cheese, mustard)
- 110 calories of tortilla chips (Food Should Taste Good Brand)
- 100-calorie pack of chocolate pretzels
- Water
Snack
- McDonalds extra-large diet coke (eek!) plus like 2 more at home (double eek!)
- String cheese (100 calories)
Dinner
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast w/barbecue sauce
- Corn on the cob with a tiny bit of butter
- Tomato and red/orange pepper salad (vinegar and little oil dressing)
- Diet Coke (theme here?)
Dessert
- 150-calorie ice cream bar
Well, that is it. It definitely seems like a lot and I think I over-snacked. But I never felt stuffed and still feel a little hungry. Plus, it is definitely less than I would usually eat, and much healthier food.
I had a LOT of bar prep work today and did not get to work out. I know that exercise is a very important part of weight loss, so I need to get on that. But all in all, I'm happy with how I did today. One day at a time. :)
